Peeps
Peeps
Narrated by the birds that roost in the rafters of a shopping centre, "Peeps" is a portrait of five unique teenage girls in contemporary Australia.
Short Film ~ 17 Mins
Directed by Sophie Somerville
SYNOPSIS
OK so it is a movie about talking birds, but it’s also about teenage girlhood and the complexity of your friendships. The status hierarchies in high school and the lengths we will go to to climb it. Peeps is about being ‘cool,’ whatever that is. It’s about risking everything and holding yourself back. It’s about how hard it is to break out of the egg and become your own person, and how really it’s amazing that any of us survive it at all.
